[Man, there is no not-awkward way to approach this: but after the recent full moon, the reality of the situation has hit in force: bonds are a necessity here in Aefenglom. He knows it's true for monsters, and he can't help but hope it's true for witches, if only because this is probably a weird thing to ask out of the blue.
But Louis is a witch. He'd arrived at the same time as Shinjiro. He'd been patient with questions, snarky with answers, and altogether composed about everything, so he thinks the risk of getting any obscene emotional bleedover is pretty low. Might as well ask.]
hey so off the wall question here
you need a bond with anyone? because i'm gonna need one before the next full moon. this last one was pretty rough.
[he definitely splintered a bookcase at one point.]
figured i'd ask you cause you seem pretty normal, and i know that people say you can get like emotions leaking over from it. so i get it if not.
[ Louis reads over the text - 5, 10 times even before he even decides to answer Shinjiro. He heard that it was useful, and now - well, after not feeling anything like himself the last full moon. Sure, he didn't change shapes or turn into a monster, but getting motivated was hard. What if they were always like that? So - that's what leads him to texting back. And, when he thinks about it, Shinjiro's reasoning makes sense. It seems like it would be smart. ]
I do need one. It wasn't great at all. But --
Alright. That seems like a smart idea. Sooner versus later is probably better.
hey Louis. it's Makoto, if u remember me from the day we arrived? and also as that guy who lives with shinjiro and sleeps in until noon every day. how've u been?
ok so remember how we were saying fie needed to knock she fucking did and its weirding me out i dunno if its a full moon thing or what but shes sad and i dunno what to do about it
That's weird. Um. ... It might be full moon related. I know you guys get a bit different at that time. But I didn't think being sad would be a part of it. I kind of kept to myself last full moon, though.
[ Louis knows it's a legitimate question, and yet. ] You can get paid for plenty of things here, including blood if you go tot he right places. [ He rocks onto the toes of his foot. ]
It's important to know others capabilities while here, or you could find yourself in serious trouble. [ Glance. ] Regardless of how terrible you find the feral instinct, it's here.
[ He sounds light an amused. It's not a very typical tone for him, but he's clearly having fun. He turns on a heel, moseying around another pair dancing, able to sense them easily. Just - instincts, he supposes. ]
Oh? Only if I'm very good, then?
[ Yes, there's still that joke. ]
Ah. Then I probably really could use some tips or tricks. Magic was totally foreign to me before arriving - outside of stories, of course. I'm not bad for someone who's a new study. [ But he wishes he had the natural, ingrained skill. ]
What, are you going to be very bad just to test me?
[She laughed, and moved with him, brushing up and close to avoid crashing against another couple. It was still teasing but you know. Still counted as being a tease, but a practical one.]
You have a leg up from all of those who've come from magical worlds, honestly. We have to unlearn everything and go in with a whole new mentality. Whereas you can go in, and you don't have to go against ingrained instincts going 'this doesn't feel right'.
Honestly, if I am further along, it's because I study magic, a lot. Just a guess but- you like to learn by doing rather then reading and writing, right?
[ Louis looked amused. He's very...awkward. It's funny, but it reminds him of when he was practicing with Shinjiro back a couple of days ago, amidst his planning for the party. He was more the teacher, and practicing to get used to the way his new limb felt when dancing.
He slipped into the motions easily, finding the beat of the music, but letting Hiccup lead him the entire time. It's how it worked, he knew. The other being taller than him - significantly, in his own opinion. ]
Mine got stepped on. I stepped on his a few times, too. [ Louis didn't mind personally. ]
[It's easier too because Newt taught him how to lead first. Which was harder at the time. Hiccup manages to slip into the motions alright, a little graceless, unrefined, but serviceable.]
Thanks. You're- definitely a lot better. I feel a little better though, knowing I'm not- the only one who stepped on some feet. [He laughs.]
[When Louis gets back to his room at some point, he'll find an addition of two decently sized plant pots, each with something already in residence. The larger, taller of the two has an unmistakable celery plant inside. It's sizable itself, with a gracious amount already available to munch on. The second has a strawberry plant also in full bloom. On the floor in front of them is a note.]
Louis--
These are charmed to survive bad weather, minimal care, and a moderate amount of trauma. Water them a couple times a week, and they'll continue to grow faster than normal.
hey if you're not gonna stop by at home after work at least let me know ok i know your big on animals having freedom and independence and whatever but your dog still doesnt have thumbs and needs to be let out once in a while anyway get back to me and lemme know if your gonna be gone til morning
[ At least the username should look somewhat familiar, even if it's been a while. Sorry Louis, but seeing as you're a witch, that means all the deer stuff should be more than normal for you. While you're useless for hoof things, everything else is fair game.
Maybe Judar should've asked to do this first, but he'll go right into it. This is probably what happens when a feral brain has stabilized and settled long enough to think to ask about these things. So why not just put it all into one big thing to send at once, right? ]
Hey, how long does it take for antlers to grow back? Does it take longer if they're ripped out? So far, because of those people, I've seen these things grow twice, and they haven't branched off like yours or anyone else's. It's weird, right?
Oh yeah, did you ever get the urge to draw small animals to you and just... Bully them, I guess? They're just so easy to draw towards you... The general you, not you specifically. It was never really a thing until... Recently.
I was going to ask you about coats changing, but it didn't look like you had one. That and I guess despite being a deer, you have weirdly human legs and arms.
It usually takes a few weeks for mine to grow back. You mean the tines? Usually it's because of injury, disease, or something like that. But I guess genetics, too.
...I don't really want to bully small animals. Why would you want to do that? That's weird.
I am covered in fur head-to-toe, you know. Even with arms, legs, and stuff. My fur changes and sheds a little bit.
