[ He sounds light an amused. It's not a very typical tone for him, but he's clearly having fun. He turns on a heel, moseying around another pair dancing, able to sense them easily. Just - instincts, he supposes. ]

Ah. Then I probably really could use some tips or tricks. Magic was totally foreign to me before arriving - outside of stories, of course. I'm not bad for someone who's a new study. [ But he wishes he had the natural, ingrained skill. ]

What, are you going to be very bad just to test me?

[She laughed, and moved with him, brushing up and close to avoid crashing against another couple. It was still teasing but you know. Still counted as being a tease, but a practical one.]

You have a leg up from all of those who've come from magical worlds, honestly. We have to unlearn everything and go in with a whole new mentality. Whereas you can go in, and you don't have to go against ingrained instincts going 'this doesn't feel right'.

Honestly, if I am further along, it's because I study magic, a lot. Just a guess but- you like to learn by doing rather then reading and writing, right?

I like to test boundaries.

[ That's actually pretty honest of him to say. Louis enjoys seeing how much he can push someone before they snap and bite back. It's the way he did things. A small grin, a turn, and he considered her words. It was all very nice to hear, really. Especially when things were so weird to him. ]

I'm a guy who knows I need to practice to be stronger, better, faster than the others around. I always have. And it isn't a bad thing, but I do better when I can do it.

It's a guess on my part. I've done some teaching before and-it's one of the things that helps both the teacher and student to know.

Just a bit. But I'm pretty good with the other elements. Some barriers, mostly offensive magic, though.

[ The song is starting to slow, approaching and end, there's a laugh at that. She's not wrong. ]
